Republic of Congo Prime Minister Inspects Ginda Energy Refinery Project

On May 4, 2024, Collinet Makosso, Prime Minister of the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville), visited the Jinda Energy Refinery Project site, accompanied by Minister of Hydrocarbons Bruno Itoua and Minister of Major Projects Jean Jacques Bouya.


Chairman Hu Hongyu of Jinda Energy briefed the delegation on the refinery’s progress. Covering 2 million square meters, the project has a planned refining capacity of 5 million tons per year, with the first phase set at 1.5 million tons annually. Construction officially began on January 1, 2024, with a 24-month timeline. Equipment procurement and on-site works are already underway.

The Prime Minister praised the rapid progress and expressed hope the project would be completed soon under the Belt and Road Initiative, benefiting the Congolese people. Chairman Hu reaffirmed Jinda Energy’s commitment to delivering the project with “Chinese craftsmanship,” ensuring timely and safe completion.
